85th Annual Meeting (Oct 2013)

Visa Requirements

[85th Annual Meeting Home Page]

United States Visitors

Participants are strongly advised to determine their individual requirements. A little planning and proper documentation will ensure a minimum of formality when entering Canada. For temporary visits to Canada a visa is not required for U.S. citizens in most cases. United States citizens and permanent residents should carry a valid passport. Naturalized citizens should be able to produce documents proving citizenship and permanent alien residents should carry their immigration documents.

For more information, visit the Information on Travel to Canada page on Travel.State.Gov.

Citizens from Countries Other than the United States

Visitors must have a valid passport and, from some countries, a visa is required. Persons who wish to enter the United States from Canada should make proper arrangements before leaving their home country. For more information please consult the nearest Canadian Embassy, High Commission, Consulate or Agent.

Also visit the Find Out If You Need a Visa to Enter Canada as a Visitor page on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website.

Request for Letter of Invitation

If you need a personal letter of invitation to attend the Meeting, contact Bridget D'Amelio at rheology@aip.org. Please provide the following information: complete name, mailing address, and any other details that your country of residence requires for your visa application. Only an original copy (not faxed or Email version) may be accepted with your visa application. The Meeting Organizers cannot contact or intervene with any Canadian Embassy or Consulate office abroad on your behalf so please begin your visa application process as soon as you determine that you want to attend the SoR Annual Meeting.
