The Society of Rheology: 87th Annual Meeting (Oct 2015) General Information


Location
	The 87th Annual Meeting of The Society of Rheology will be held in Baltimore, Maryland on October 11-15, 2015; the optional associated short courses will be offered October 10th and 11th. The technical program will take place at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore in the Inner Harbor. The Inner Harbor features the National Aquarium, the Maryland Science Center, and numerous opportunities for dining, site-seeing and cruising. The average high and low temperatures in Baltimore during October are 70°F and 53°F, respectively, with an average 3 inches of precipitation. We look forward to seeing you in Baltimore!

Air Transportation
	The Hyatt Regency Baltimore is approximately 10 miles from the Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI).
Ground Transportation from/to the Airport
	Shuttle Service The Super Shuttle service picks-up every 30 minutes at the ground transportation desk (baggage claim areas 3, 4 and 5). Look for the blue vans with yellow lettering saying Super Shuttle. Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. One way rate is $16 (subject to change) with more private options available at higher fees. Taxi Taxi Service is available on a first come, first serve basis from the lower level curb of all terminals. All taxis are metered. Approximate cost from Baltimore-Washington International Airport to Hyatt Regency Baltimore is $35.00. Light Rail Light Rail is the least expensive transportation option during daylight hours from BWI airport to the Hyatt Regency but involves some walking. The Light Rail Station at BWI is located immediately outside the lower level of the International terminal building, adjacent to Concourse E. The light rail runs every 20 minutes from BWI to downtown Baltimore hotels (26 minute ride). Take the Light Rail from BWI to Camden Yards Station and get off at the Pratt Street exit. Walk east along Pratt Street 2 blocks to Light Street. Turn right (south) on Light Street & walk 1 block to the Hyatt Regency.
Parking
	Discounted hotel parking for SOR attendees is $18/day. For in-house guests, the agents will discount the bill. For SOR attendees not staying at the hotel, request a discount voucher; when exiting the garage, insert original ticket and then discount voucher.
Registration
	Conference registration includes access to all technical sessions and the vendor display, program and abstract booklets, and all receptions and coffee breaks. The registration fee does not include the Bingham Award Banquet; see details on the meeting registration page. On-site registration will be held on Sunday, October 11th, from 2:00 pm to 6:30 pm at the Constellation Foyer. Registration will also be held Monday through Wednesday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the same location.
Welcoming Reception
	The Welcoming Reception will be held on Sunday, October 11th, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Foyer/Atrium of the Hyatt Regency.
Baltimore Aquarium Reception
	Monday evening from 7 pm to 9:30 pm will feature a special reception at the National Aquarium, one of the top aquariums in the country with 17,000 animals in award-winning exhibits. It is a short walk from the Hyatt Regency.
Society Business Meeting
	All attendees are encouraged to attend the annual business meeting of The Society of Rheology. This year the business meeting will be held on Tuesday October 13th from 12:05 pm to 1:30 pm in Constellation Ballroom C.
Bingham Award Reception and Banquet
	The Bingham Award Reception and Banquet will be held on Tuesday, October 13th. The reception will be held from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Atrium Lobby of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The reception is open to all meeting participants at no extra charge. The Bingham Award Banquet will follow at 8:00 pm in the Constellation Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency; banquet tickets can be purchased with the meeting registration (see meeting registration page for details).
Poster Session
	The Poster Session and Reception will be held on Wednesday, October 14th from 6:05 pm to 8:00 pm in the Atrium/Harborview of the Hyatt Regency.
Exhibits
	Vendors will demonstrate their products from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Wednesday in the Constellation Ballroom AB. Coffee breaks will also be held in the Exhibit area. Vendors should contact the Local Arrangements Committee Chair (Dr. Kalman Migler) directly about exhibit space.
