Light Rail
Denver International Airport (DEN) now has a direct rail line from the airport to downtown Denver’s Union Station. The University of Colorado A Line is the most convenient and inexpensive transportation option (Distance: 23 miles, Travel time: 37 minutes). Trains run every 15 minutes during peak hours, and every 30 minutes from 3 AM to 5 AM and 6:30 PM to 1 AM. The airport fare is $9 per day, which includes unlimited rides during a single business day. To get to Denver Airport Station, follow signs to the “Transit Center” and proceed to the south end of the main terminal on Level 5 (located under the large American flag). Exit the terminal through the sliding glass doors and take the escalator located in the center of the plaza down to Level 1. Tickets for the A Line can be purchased at the ticket vending machines located on the train platform using cash or credit cards. Click here for more details. The Embassy Suites is approximately 0.8 miles from Denver’s Union Station. It is a manageable and scenic walk through the 16th Street Mall, or you can hitch a ride on the Free MallRide shuttle. The Free MallRide runs along 16th Street and stops at every block between Union Station and the Civic Center. From the Stout Street stop, the Embassy Suites is less than 2 blocks away. The Free MallRide starts running at 4:59 AM on weekdays, 5:30 AM on Saturdays, and 6:30 AM on Sundays/Holidays. Service continues throughout the day with the last complete round-trip of the night starting out at 1:21 AM from Union Station to Civic Center Station. Additional public transportation and taxis are also available at Denver’s Union Station.
