      The Society's Bingham Medal has been awarded annually since 1948 to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the science of rheology.
bullet_blue.GIF (262 bytes)  Arthur B. Metzner Early Career Award
      The Arthur B. Metzner Early Career Award shall be given, at most annually, to a young person who has distinguished him/herself in rheological research, rheological practice, or service to rheology.
bullet_blue.GIF (262 bytes)  Distinguished Service Award
The Society's Distinguished Service Award was instituted to recognize exceptional service to The Society. It is awarded infrequently at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
bullet_blue.GIF (262 bytes)  Journal of Rheology Publication Award
The Journal of Rheology Publication Award committee of the Society annually selects the best paper published in Journal of Rheology during the preceding two years for special recognition at the annual meeting and for a monetary award. This award, first presented in 1994, is supported by TA Instruments of New Castle, Delaware.

  The Society's Best Student Poster Award has been awarded annually since 2001 to a student selected by a panel of judges at the Poster Session of the Annual Meeting. The Society of Rheology sponsors the student poster competition to encourage student presentations and participation in the meeting and to recognize excellence.
bullet_blue.GIF (262 bytes)  Best Postdoctoral Fellow Poster Award
  The Best Postdoctoral Fellow Poster Award was inaugurated in 2009. The Society of Rheology sponsors the postdoctoral poster competition to encourage post-doctoral presentations and participation in the meeting and to recognize excellence. A post-doc, as defined by NIH/NSF, is considered to be "an individual who has received a doctoral degree (or equivalent) and is engaged in a temporary and defined period of mentored advanced training to enhance the professional skills and research independence needed to pursue his or her chosen career path."
